Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Modem AI is built with privacy as its foundation. Unlike traditional AI applications, Modem AI runs entirely on your device. This means your conversations, questions, and responses never leave your device and are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers.

What Data We Collect

Anonymous Usage Data

We collect minimal, anonymous usage data to help us improve Modem AI. This data includes:

• App launch events
• Feature usage statistics (e.g., which screens you visit)
• Technical diagnostics (e.g., crash reports, performance metrics)
• Device type and operating system version

This data is completely anonymous and cannot be traced back to you personally.

What We Don't Collect

We explicitly do NOT collect:

• Your conversations with the AI
• The questions you ask
• The responses you receive
• Any Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
• Your name, email address, or contact information
• Your location data
• Your browsing history or app usage outside of Modem AI

How Your Data is Processed

All AI processing happens locally on your device. The language model runs entirely within the Modem AI application, using your device's resources. Your conversations are never synchronized to the cloud or transmitted over the network for an answer.

Speech you dictate is recognized on the device. Modem AI does not send that audio to a cloud speech service. If on-device recognition is unavailable, the app tells you instead of falling back to the cloud.

Data Storage and Security

Conversations are saved on your device so you can return to them. They live in the app's local data. Modem AI does not upload them, and it does not back them up to a cloud service.

• You can delete a conversation in the app
• Stored conversations remain on your device only
• The on-device model download, about 2–3 GB, is stored only on your device
• Uninstalling Modem AI removes the local app data

Third-Party Services

Modem AI does not integrate with any third-party services that would have access to your conversations or personal data. The anonymous usage data we collect is processed through standard analytics tools that comply with privacy regulations.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Use Modem AI without any conversation data being transmitted
• Delete conversations stored on your device at any time
• Opt out of anonymous usage data collection in the app settings
• Uninstall the application, which will remove all locally stored data

Children's Privacy

Modem AI does not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app runs entirely locally and doesn't collect personal information, it is safe for users of all ages. However, we recommend parental supervision for children using AI applications.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Significant changes will be announced within the application.
